EXTRAORDINARY! Wow.The ladies could easily be a Gauguin painting, and the gentlemen could be a Cezanne. Love this. Now, please, the story.
These are some of the photos that I took of people wearing traditional costumes at the Grape Harvest Festival in Nimes. The hats were beautiful - I kept wondering how they managed to iron them to such crisp perfection. Starch, perhaps?Since I forgot the battery of my camera in my suitcase, I couldn't take any pictures while I was in Boston yesterday so I had to use some from France.
According to Wikipedia: "a head covering used for several reasons. It can be worn for protection against the elements, for ceremonial or religious reasons, for safety, or as a fashion accessory."- How would you categorize the white hats?
Sara, Really?! You decided to use Wikipedia as your source? ;-) But thanks for defining hats and for helping me select the photos for today's post. I still feel bad about cropping the rest of the family out of the photo of the little boy and his father, but you're right in a rather ruthless way that it looks better. And to answer your question, I'm going to categorize the white hats, the boy's beret and the man's hat as fashion accessories.
Comments are welcome and much appreciated! :-)
