Sunday's picture and a song - Sweet dreams!

If you would like to take a nap on the streets of Paris, may I recommend the Place Colette. Classical musicians playing Mozart, Vivaldi and Beethoven provide a soothing soundtrack to accompany your dreams. If snoozing on the pavement isn't your thing, enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine at Café le Nemours.

Edit: After responding to Denise's comment below, I decided to add a couple more photos that I took while at the Palais Royal. It was a beautiful afternoon.

  1. I see from the clothes that you are enjoying the same good weather in Paris as we are in the north of the Uk.

One of the things I love about Paris is the music on the streets and in the metro. I have sat and enjoyed this ensemble many times and the Russian choir. I always think of Paris as a city of music. No wonder the homeless man was relaxing to it.

One thing I noticed last week in London was the fewer numbers of homeless people on the streets, compared to Paris. I did not realise how desensitised I had become to the displaces in Paris.

  2. The weather is absolutely gorgeous, Denise! We had one of those perfect Parisian afternoons yesterday. People were playing "petanque" and soccer, children were making castles in the sandboxes and everyone was enjoying the soft warmth of the sunshine in the garden of the Palais Royale.

The group of classical musicians makes the Place Colette one of my favorite spots in Paris on a weekend afternoon. I can understand the homeless man wanting to relax and fully enjoy their music. I felt like doing the same thing.

Contrary to your experience in London, I was surprised by the large number of homeless people while visiting Boston. It was an eye opener for me to see so many in my own country.

  3. Are you sure the man wasn't doing a new form of planking?

After two or three (I forget) days of drizzle and the famous Chicago fog, sun seems to have returned to the Windy City. I think I'll make a day of it too.

    Enjoy.

    1. I hope that you had a pleasant day enjoying the sunshine, Joseph! The problem with continuously sunny weather is that it's proving impossible to stay indoors. All of my chores (like the ironing!) are piling up.

  4. Hey, I think I saw these same guys when I was there! They were really good, I'm glad I happened to be walking by.

We're getting unusually warm temperatures here, too. Enjoy it!

I'm glad that this group was part of your Parisian experience - it's always a treat whenever I happen to stumble across them.

    1. That's exactly the same thing that I thought when I first saw him. I'm still not sure what the guys in the Louvre were doing.

    1. Three days later and the weather is still beautiful! I don't know much about trees, but I'm fairly sure that they're magnolias. Let's hope that the good weather bodes well for your visit in April.

    1. It certainly would be easy to fall asleep listening to their music. Now that I know that it was you, I'm happy that I didn't wake you up while taking the photo, especially since you looked so peaceful. ;)
