Sunday's pictures and a song - Bonjour, Paris! with Michael Pereira and Liza
Bonjour, Paris! That's exactly what I was thinking as I snapped a couple of photos on my way home from dropping some friends off at Gare de Lyon. The city looked so lovely in the early morning light that I was tempted to break into song.
Many thanks to Michael Pereira, an "Actor, Singer, Seeker, Lover" in New York for sending me a tweet about his YouTube ode to Paris. If I could sing as well as Michael, that's what I would have been doing on Pont Royal this morning. Bonjour, Paris! with Michael and Liza! is the perfect song for the start of a perfect day.

ReplyDeleteI love the light on the Musee d'Orsay.
After a couple of days of grey skies and clouds, the light was magical. There was a large group clustered on one of the bridges waiting for exactly the right moment to take photos of Notre Dame. I loved watching the city wake up this morning.
DeleteOops, there it is.
ReplyDeleteGood!
DeleteOkay, one more--that's the silhouette of Charles Aznavour at 1:57. Did you say once you didn't know his songs?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think that I know him - Stephane does and just told me that he had wanted to see him in concert last year. He said that we'll go see Aznavour if he's in concert again this year. He also made sure to tell me that Madonna is coming on July 14.
DeleteThanks! I am honored!
ReplyDeleteIt was my pleasure, Michael! I truly enjoyed watching your performance and only wish that I would have seen it in person. You'll have to let me know the next time that you film a YouTube video in Paris!
DeleteThanks again for letting me use your video for today's post!
Lovely pictures, and fun video, I see the sun is shining again. Getting PPD already. Your blog and pictures will keep me sane till April.
ReplyDeleteLove Denise
I don't want to add to your PPD, but the sun is shining and the city looks beautiful. Good thing that you already have a trip booked in April and another one in July.
DeleteYour blog looks great! It's going to be an excellent way to keep us all up to date with your latest adventures.
Gotta love photography at "Golden Hour"...and during the "Blue Light", both magical in Paris. Enjoyed the video and song while imagining myself back in Paris. Soon, but not soon enough!

Nancy, Thanks for sending the link about "Blue Light". It's not a term with which I was familiar, but it's true that the twilight hours are magical. I've only taken a couple of photos pre-dawn but I really should take some more because the color of the sky was amazing.
DeleteHang in there - April's almost here!
