Sunday's Picture and a Song: Douce Nuit, Sainte Nuit

Douce Nuit, Sainte Nuit. Swathed in a blanket of low clouds, Paris was unusually silent when Stéphane and I walked past Notre-Dame last night.

  2. Dear Mary Kay, for me it's always a little strange, to hear "Stille Nacht" in another language. To you and your family my best wishes - Sanne

    1. I've always enjoyed the German version of "Silent Night" because I grew up listening to a Vienna Boys Choir recording of it.

Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas in Vienna!

  4. There's that bridge again--that's the third question I missed in the quiz earlier this week. It's name. This one is so full.

And I'm so surprised by the schmaltzy card selection in the video, but I shouldn't be critical. Okay, it's nearly Christmas.

    Merriest and happy.

    1. The bridge in the photo is the Pont de l'Archevêché. The quiz asked about the Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir.

My apologies for the schmaltzy card selection. I picked that video because it has the lyrics for Silent NIght in French.

      Merry Christmas!

  6. Lovely post MK. Enjoyed the carol, which made me feel quite Christmasey (not so easy in 25C heat). Merry Christmas to you and your family.
