Sunday's Picture and a Song: Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire

Come and join us next to the fire! I think that Stéphane and I may have found the best place in Paris to drink hot mulled wine, these comfy chairs in the new bar at Le Bristol.

  1. Salut. A sante. (I wish I had the accent marks on my laptop.) It seems too early for mulled wine though, it's been in the high 50s and low 60s here, just too warm. But I love the fancy digs.

    1. It's in the 50s and 60s in Chicago? It's in the 30s and 40s in Paris, which is perfect weather for vin chaud!

  2. That looks so so cozy!!! We had a fireplace at our living room in NYC and I miss it so so so much. I guess this bar will have to do!

    1. The Bristol's a pretty good alternative if you don't have a fireplace at home!

  5. I've lived in New Zealand for 40 years, and I still feel we are only 'pretending' it is Christmas. How can Christmas be in SUMMER!!!! GM x

    1. I know exactly what you mean! I always felt as if we were pretending that it was Christmas when we lived in the tropics. It's supposed to be cold on Christmas. And if there's snow, it's even better!

  6. I love the idea but mulled wine in Australia at this time of years would melt ones Christmas resolve. Merry season of the pointy tree Mary Kay!!

    1. Thank you, Baron! I wish you a happy holiday season is sunny Australia. Come January, I'll be yearning for a bit of sunshine. My doctor just prescribed some vitamin D for me because I'm severely deficient - not at all surprising since I live in Paris!
