Sunday's pictures and a song - Just before Sunset

Thankful to have a seat next to the window while riding home on an overcrowded bus last week, I noticed that the light at the Place de la Concorde was exceptionally beautiful. Big dilemma! Should I give up my seat and get off the bus in the middle of rush hour or continue on my way and miss the opportunity to take some photos. I jumped off just as the door was closing...

  2. What gorgeous photos! I love the backlight, the people and objects in the foreground are just silhouettes and the sunset is on display. Just beautiful.

  3. Well worth it! Light is so difficult to capture and you've done it in two different ways, really nice. The clarity of the water in the first one really strikes me.

Glad you got off the bus.

  4. Thank you Mary Kay. All the more reason to visit Paris in the "off season". The light is beautiful!

  6. Thanks, everyone! I'm happy that you enjoyed the photos. It's grey and foggy today so it was probably a good idea to jump off of the bus. Not to be pessimistic, but living in Europe has taught me that you never know how long it will be before the sun comes out again.

Christine, I'm not sure if it's like this every November but the light has been exceptional.

  8. Thanks, Anne! As you know, Paris makes a pretty darn good subject for photos.
