Seen from the shore - Vevey, Switzerland

  1. MK; you seem to have been in all my favourite places :)
I have a Flickr friend who lives in Vevey and when I still lived in Lutry (and God, please let me live there once again....) we often took the steam-ship on a tour to Château de Chillon and got back on foot to Vevey for lovely chocolats and a coffee, maybe added by an excellent ice-cream of our all-time favourite ice cream van before boarding the 'train-train' back to Lutry..... Do you know Lutry?! You MUST!
    Thanks for those gorgeous shots

    1. Yes! I LOVE Lutry and have often thought that it must be a great place to live. When we used to live in Vevey/Montreux, we always took our visitors to the caveau in Lutry. I remember that there's also a good bakery/tearoom in town and a place that serves delicious filet de perch.

The boat trip to Chillon followed by a stroll along the lake is another one of my favorite things to do! I never get tired of walking by the lake and seeing the mountains because it looks so different depending on the weather.

  2. Ah, La Suisse!

The world class scenery in Vevey is hard to beat.

    1. Whenever I'm driving on the corniche from Chardonne to Vevey, I always think that it's one of the most beautiful spots on the earth. Not that I'm biased or anything...

  3. Did you say filet de perch?! One of my all-time favorites. We've sampled it in several of the great restaurants that ring Lake Geneva. Oh my, you're making me hungry. Beautiful photos, as always, Mary Kay!

    1. Yes, filets de perch - i had some for lunch on Monday! :) Your last posts have been making me hungry. I'm still trying to figure out where I can get my hands on some Italian sausage to make the roasted sausage with vegetables. It looks yummy.

  4. Bonjour
Looks familiar having a sister and brother-in-law who live in Blonay. Small world.

  5. Small world, indeed. Depending on how long your sister has lived in Blonay, I would say that there's a good chance that I know her. It's another one of the towns where we lived (and still have a house) when we were in Switzerland.

I wrote several posts about the area during my last visit in June.

    2. Hello Mariette! yes, our house is on ch. des Vignerons. I seem to recall talking with you while we were walking down that road together a couple of years ago. It's quite a coincidence that you're Conrad's sister! I wish that I would have known that you used to live in Paris. I would have had lots of questions for you before moving here last March. If I'm ever in CH on a Thursday, I'll be sure to join the RWG.

Thanks for commenting - it was good to hear from you!
