Newsflash: "Adopt a Guy" dating boutique opens in Paris!
|Window shopping at "adopte un mec" boutique on the recently renamed Rue de Bonheur.|
Speciality stores. Paris has a lot of them. You can select flowers from the florist, meat from the butcher, bread from the bakery and mecs (guys) from a boutique called "Adopte un Mec". That's right, ladies! If you're looking for Mr. Right, head over to the appropriately named Rue du Bonheur (Happiness Street) to choose from a tempting array. Packaged in boxes, they come with the following instructions:
- Remove him gently from his packaging
- Feed him balanced meals three times a day
- Be careful not to stress him because he needs a minimum of 10 hours of sleep
- Don't leave him within reach of your girlfriends
As a happily married woman, I was just browsing this afternoon while other excited shoppers loaded up their carts with geeks, airplane pilots, doctors and musclemen. If you would like to check out the goods for yourself, hurry over to the 1st arrondissement. Inspired by the online dating website where men pay 1 euro per day to post profiles that women peruse, the store only has a short term lease in Paris before it moves to Lausanne, Lyon and Toulouse. Adopte un Mec is open daily from 2-6 pm.

Many thanks to Sylvia from Finding Noon for inviting me to go shopping with her. It was a real adventure!
