Sunday's Pictures and a Song: "I Love Paris"

Tuileries Garden

It was an exceptional weekend in Paris. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and it seemed as if everyone was outside soaking up the sunshine. It was probably a weekend very similar to this one that inspired Cole Porter to write I Love Paris.

Every time I look down on this timeless town,
Whether blue or gray be her skies,
Whether loud be her cheers or whether soft be her tears,
More and more do I realize,

That I love Paris in the spring time,
I love Paris in the fall,

Tuileries Garden
I love Paris in the winter, when it drizzles
I love Paris in the summer, when it sizzles

People lounging on the bank of the Seine
I love Paris every moment,
Every moment of the year,

The Grand Canal at Versailles
I love Paris, why oh, why do I love Paris?
Because my love is near

Versailles

    1. Yes, we are! It's hard to think that I'll be going back in time to the winter when I travel to Boston this weekend. Can you please ask the sun to make an appearance instead of the snow?

    2. I don't know quite how much power I have in that corner, but I'll do my best! :)

  2. The city really did come to life this weekend, didn't it? I'm enjoying this spring weather and seeing even some folks in bathing suits surrounded by the naked winter trees! It's a comical contrast. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I hope to see you soon!

    1. Last weekend was amazing. I've never seen so many people in Paris. I guess that it's because no one wanted to stay inside when it was so beautiful outside. We definitely have to get together soon! I'll be in Boston until the end of March but will check when you're available as soon as I get back. In the meantime, enjoy this incredible weather. Il faut profiter!

    1. You're welcome ... and thanks for commenting, Nancy! Sorry that I've taken such a long hiatus from "Sunday's Picture and a Song". I sometimes feel as if my blog has become an orphan ever since I discovered how easy it is to post photos on FB. But since there are a lot of people who don't have FB, I wanted to share the beautiful Spring weather with them, too.
